True stories is an original Bulgarian series in the scripted reality genre. Each episode is 1 hour long (48 min.) and tells a new story, and the individual series are not connected to each other. All characters and plots are real and borrowed from documented cases from the practice of professional psychologists. To preserve people's anonymity, the names of all participants have been changed. The roles are performed by non-professional actors in order to achieve greater credibility of the reality elements. A unifying link for the entire series is the figure of the professional psychologist who is practically "playing himself". True Stories is told through the eyes of the psychologist in question; he introduces the cases, explains the actions and profiles of the characters, demonstrates excerpts from the therapy, and at the end of each episode makes conclusion on both the story and the specific psychological problem.
The stories are dramatic, full of twists and turns, love, sadness, infidelity, betrayal, deception and everything that real life can create.
